Delhi Awakens to Gentle Rain, Kartavya Path Greets Showers

Delhi residents enjoyed a pleasant Saturday morning as light rain and mist descended upon the national capital. Early walkers were observed at Kartavya Path embracing the refreshing showers. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported isolated light rain across Delhi, with temperatures around 27 degrees Celsius in Safdarjung and 26 degrees Celsius in the Ridge area.
In the preceding 24 hours, Delhi had experienced very light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. Minimum temperatures during this period ranged from 23 to 26 degrees Celsius, with maximum temperatures settling between 34 and 35 degrees Celsius. Pusa recorded significant cumulative rainfall of 16.5 mm.
Beyond Delhi, meteorological data indicated very heavy rainfall in states such as Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and parts of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Heavy rainfall was also noted in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Assam, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, and Odisha. The IMD has forecast isolated heavy rainfall for Uttarakhand from August 22 to August 28, with fairly widespread rain expected in several eastern and northeastern regions.
