A yellow alert has been issued by the India Meteorological Department for Gautam Buddha Nagar and Ghaziabad, forecasting light rain and thunderstorms. This warning comes as the region experiences a severe heatwave, with weather conditions poised for a significant and rapid change. A dust storm is anticipated to traverse Delhi and other areas within the National Capital Region (NCR).
Strong winds are expected in specific locations including Loni Dehat, Hindon AF Station, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, and Chhapraula. Similar gusty conditions are predicted for Noida, Dadri, Greater Noida, Faridabad, and Ballabhgarh as the dust storm progresses. Following the dust storm, thunderstorms and light rainfall are forecast across the entire Delhi-NCR.
Authorities advise residents in the affected areas to remain vigilant and monitor weather updates closely. The incoming weather system promises a transition from the current heatwave, although the immediate arrival of the dust storm and strong winds may pose short-term safety concerns.
