Delhi experienced moderate fog on Thursday morning, significantly decreasing visibility to 200 metres in the Palam area. The minimum temperature recorded was 11°C, which is three degrees higher than the seasonal average.
Forecasters predict a drop in minimum temperatures to 6°C by Saturday, coinciding with reduced fog intensity and the onset of strong northwesterly winds. Light rain is anticipated on Sunday with the approach of a fresh western disturbance, which is expected to lower maximum temperatures to between 17°C and 19°C.
The city's air quality index (AQI) stood at 263 on Thursday morning, classified as 'poor'. Projections indicate that the air quality will likely remain in the 'poor' category throughout Thursday and could deteriorate into the 'very poor' range by Friday.
