Several areas experienced record-low minimum temperatures, with Ayanagar hitting 2.9°C, the lowest January minimum in 13 years. Safdarjung, the city's base station, recorded 4.8°C, three degrees below normal.
The India Meteorological Department has forecast the persistence of cold wave conditions until Wednesday, issuing an orange alert for Tuesday and a yellow alert for Wednesday. Minimum temperatures are expected to remain in the 2-5°C range. Despite daytime sunshine, icy winds are predicted to keep maximum temperatures between 18-21°C.
