Tornado Strikes Chicago Suburbs

A powerful tornado, preliminarily assessed as an EF-2 or stronger, touched down in Chicago's south suburbs on Tuesday. The tornado was rain-wrapped, significantly obscuring visibility and making it difficult to observe. Communities including Flossmoor, Homewood, Thornton, and Glenwood reported direct impacts from the destructive storm. The twister continued its path, subsequently moving into Northwest Indiana shortly after its initial touchdown.
