Brisbane Braces for Stormy Weather This Week
12 Oct
Summary
- Up to 15 millimetres of rain possible on Tuesday.
- Temperatures expected to fall to 21 degrees Celsius.
- Previous severe storm warnings in early October largely spared Brisbane.

Brisbane is anticipating a change in weather, with rain on the horizon following a period of warmer conditions. The Bureau of Meteorology forecasts a chance of thunderstorms and up to 15 millimetres of rainfall on Tuesday as a trough moves through south-east Queensland. More wet weather is expected later in the week.
Meteorologists describe the upcoming weather setup as somewhat unpredictable, with Tuesday offering the best potential for heavier rainfall. Beyond Tuesday, the likelihood of significant falls is expected to decrease as the week progresses, with the weekend showing signs of improvement regarding showers.
A substantial temperature drop is also predicted for later in the week. By late Wednesday, temperatures in the Brisbane area are expected to fall to approximately 21 degrees Celsius, which is about seven degrees below the seasonal average. This contrasts sharply with the recent weekend, where temperatures neared 30 degrees Celsius.
It is worth noting that while south-east Queensland received warnings for severe storms in early October, Brisbane largely avoided the most severe impacts of that weather system.
