- Bihar government establishes drinking water stations across urban and rural areas.

Bihar is anticipating a respite from the intense heat as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Patna has issued a yellow alert for rain and thunderstorms. This alert is in effect until April 30, primarily covering north-central and north-east Bihar, warning of gusty winds, lightning, and rainfall.
The current weather systems, including a cyclonic circulation and a westerly jet stream, are drawing moisture into the state. Officials forecast a significant drop in temperatures, with maximums potentially decreasing by 3-4°C over the next 72 to 96 hours. Minimum temperatures are also expected to fall by 1-3°C.
In response to the ongoing heatwave conditions, particularly in southern districts like Aurangabad and Gaya, Patna's district administration has proactively established 387 drinking water stations. These stations are providing free water in urban and rural areas to support labourers and commuters. The public health engineering department is also on standby with repair teams and control rooms to manage water supply infrastructure.
