Bengaluru is expected to experience a shift in weather, with scattered light to moderate rain anticipated from April 28 to May 1, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Following a period of intense heat with temperatures reaching up to 36°C, the city's forecast indicates a possibility of rain, mainly in the afternoon or evening.
Despite the expected showers and winds reaching 40 to 50 kmph, daytime temperatures are projected to remain in the mid-30s. The IMD also noted that coastal districts and northern interior regions of Karnataka might receive light rain, with some areas experiencing continued heat and humidity. Isolated thunderstorms are also possible in south interior Karnataka on April 30.
This anticipated rainfall comes after parts of the state have already endured severe weather. In Shivamogga district, wind and rain on April 26 caused significant damage to plantations, uprooting numerous trees. Chikkamagaluru also reported heavy rain on April 27.
