The Met office has predicted enhanced thunderstorm activity over the districts of Bengal on March 31. A trough is expected to form within the next 48 hours. Coupled with southerly winds, this system will trigger thunderstorms across south Bengal on March 31. Kolkata, however, is expected to remain relatively dry.
While an earlier upper air circulation has weakened, a new system is forming, favoring thunderstorm conditions. Sporadic thunderstorms are anticipated across south and north Bengal on Monday. The chances of thundershowers are expected to rise significantly across both south and north Bengal districts on March 31.
