Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta Kicks Off with Special Shapes Rodeo

The 2025 Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is currently underway, and today is a special shapes rodeo day at the event. As of 10:08 AM on October 11th, 2025, organizers are closely monitoring the weather conditions at the park.

The event is attracting large crowds, with traffic getting to Balloon Fiesta Park reported as heavy and backed up in some areas. This is a common occurrence during the popular annual festival, which features a variety of hot air balloons, including many in unique and whimsical shapes.

Despite the traffic challenges, the special shapes rodeo is expected to be a highlight of the day's festivities. Attendees will have the opportunity to see a diverse array of balloon designs take to the skies, providing a visually stunning display for all to enjoy.
