On October 21, the Kuwait-flagged oil product tanker M/T Al Dasma was struck by an unidentified projectile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The vessel was carrying 21 Indian seafarers, all of whom, along with the rest of the crew, were reported to be completely safe. The incident occurred approximately 11 nautical miles west of Bukha, Oman. This event is part of a series of security incidents affecting commercial shipping in the Gulf region.
Earlier in October, on October 16, another crude oil tanker, MT ST 3, also carrying 15 Indian seafarers, was struck by a projectile in the same waterway.
