Swaraj Kaushal, 73, Passes Away After Chest Pain

Swaraj Kaushal, who served as the governor of Mizoram and was a distinguished senior advocate, died on Thursday at the age of 73. He was taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences following complaints of chest pain, where medical professionals pronounced him dead. His passing was announced by a Bharatiya Janata Party leader.

Kaushal is survived by his daughter, Bansuri Swaraj, who is a Member of Parliament representing New Delhi. In an emotional tribute, she shared her profound grief and highlighted her father's enduring values. Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to Kaushal, recognizing his commitment to public service and his impactful tenure as India's youngest governor.

Condolences have also been extended by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who remembered Swaraj Kaushal's significant contributions to public life and the legal field. Born in 1952, Kaushal was appointed governor of Mizoram at the young age of 37, leaving a lasting impression during his service. He was also the husband of the late union minister Sushma Swaraj.
