Stoke-on-Trent Honors Armed Forces

Hundreds convened in Stoke-on-Trent to commemorate Armed Forces Day at Queen's Park. The significant event included a full military parade and a solemn service, complemented by live music and various activities.

This gathering offered the public a valuable occasion to express gratitude and acknowledge the commitment of both former and current members of the armed forces community. Prof. Liz Barnes, the Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire, highlighted the necessity of such events.

She stated that recognizing the efforts and support from cadets and the armed forces is crucial. Barnes also added that the day served as an opportunity to thank service members, their supportive families, and their work in maintaining peace.

The afternoon saw a military parade at 14:00 BST, followed by a service and entertainment. Military vehicles, regimental displays, and music from Penkhull Village Brass enhanced the celebratory atmosphere.
