Easter Attack: Medics Injured in Drone Strike
12 Apr
Summary
- Three medics were injured when a Russian drone struck an ambulance.
- The attack occurred on the night of Orthodox Easter.
- This happened despite Russia's declared 'Easter truce'.
On the night of Orthodox Easter, three medics were injured in an attack by a Russian drone that struck an ambulance in the Hlukhiv hromada. The medical personnel received prompt treatment and their conditions are not life-threatening, according to Oleh Hryhorov, Head of the Sumy Oblast Military Administration.
This event follows remarks by Russian leader Vladimir Putin on April 10 declaring an 'Easter truce' intended to last from April 11 until the end of Orthodox Easter celebrations. However, reports from DeepState analysts indicated Russian forces continued combat operations, including the alleged use of FPV drones to target wounded Ukrainian defenders near Huliaipilske in Zaporizhzhia Oblast on the evening of April 11.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported a significant number of ceasefire violations by Russian forces after 16:00 Kyiv time on April 11. These violations included 469 instances of ceasefire breaches, 22 assault actions, 153 artillery strikes, and the deployment of nearly 300 loitering munitions against Ukrainian positions.
