Summary
- Launcher fits inside a standard 20-foot shipping container.
- Each drone carries a warhead weighing six kilograms.
- Drone has a flight endurance of up to 70 minutes.

Rheinmetall has demonstrated operational flexibility by testing its FV-014 loitering munition from a moving Rheinmetall HX truck. This trial, conducted in July 2026 at the National Test Centre for Unmanned Aerial Systems in Cochstedt, Saxony-Anhalt, showcased the system's potential for rapid deployment.
A single 20-foot containerized launcher can house up to 18 FV-014 drones. Each drone weighs approximately 22 kilograms and carries a six-kilogram warhead designed to penetrate over 600 millimeters of steel armor.
Once deployed, the FV-014 drone unfolds its wings and operates with a quiet electric propeller and a reduced radar and infrared signature. Operators maintain control for up to 70 minutes over a range of approximately 100 kilometers, allowing for reconnaissance and strike decisions.
The launcher's design, based on a standard ISO container, allows for mounting on trucks, ships, or fixed positions. It connects via radio or satellite, offering flexible deployment options. The system includes a long-range power supply and a dormant activation mode for extended remote functionality.
Designed for fast-moving combat, the FV-014 resists GNSS jamming and can target armored vehicles, soft infrastructure, and unarmoured assets. Rheinmetall plans future deployments on mobile land platforms and seagoing vessels, pending customer procurement decisions.
