First Lieutenant Tyler Feehan, 25, has been returned to metro Atlanta following his death in Jordan last month. He passed away on July 18 after an attack at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base. His remains arrived at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware on July 22 before being flown to Georgia.
The procession traveled from Cobb County International Airport to Woodstock Funeral Home. His parents, Stephen and Shari Feehan, along with his fiancée Claire Fletcher, were present. They expressed devastation but immense pride in their only child, who grew up in metro Atlanta and Savannah. He joined the U.S. Army at 18, following his father's path.
Feehan was deployed to Jordan in July 2025, tasked with intercepting missiles. His service was extended, and he died in action on what was to be his return date, July 18, 2026. He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his bravery and saving lives. His parents found a list of his goals, including marrying his fiancée and attending law school, prompting them to establish a scholarship fund for military education.
Visitation services are open to the public on Thursday at Woodstock Funeral Home. Funeral and burial services are scheduled for Friday at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, where he will be laid to rest next to his grandfather.
