In the village of Srifa, south Lebanon, a seven-year-old girl named Aline Saeed narrowly survived an Israeli strike that tragically killed her infant sister and other family members. The attack occurred on Wednesday, the same day a U.S.-Iran ceasefire began, which many in Lebanon had hoped would extend to their country.
Nasser Saeed, Aline's 64-year-old grandfather, recounted the horror of the strike, which happened as they gathered for a burial. He described the event as a storm descending upon them, leaving four more relatives to bury. His infant granddaughter, Taleen, who was not yet two years old, was among the victims.
