26 Jun
Summary
- German naval delegation visited Haifa, conducted joint exercises.
- Israel has strong ties with German submarine manufacturing.
- USS Gerald R. Ford docked in Haifa during recent operations.

The Israel Navy recently welcomed a German Navy delegation to Haifa, fostering stronger international maritime relations. During the visit, a German vessel docked at the Port of Haifa and participated in a joint Passing Exercise (PASSEX) with Israeli forces. This exercise aimed to boost operational cooperation and professional ties between the two navies.
Senior officers from both navies engaged in discussions to further strengthen their partnership. These discussions are significant given Israel's established relationship with Germany's naval industry, which includes the purchase of corvettes and multiple submarines. Elbit Systems Ltd. has also expanded its collaboration with ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems Atlas Elektronic (TKMS) on submarine technology.
This period also saw the USS Gerald R. Ford, the world's largest aircraft carrier, dock at Haifa Naval Base. This occurred in February during operations Roaring Lion and Epic Fury, a period of heightened activity in the region.
