Iran's Digital Blackout: Starlink Jammed Amid Protests

Iran has been subjected to a pervasive digital blackout for five consecutive days, with internet connectivity remaining near zero as of Monday morning. This extensive communication shutdown, initiated on Thursday, has impacted over 90 million individuals across the nation amidst escalating anti-government demonstrations. Fixed-line internet, mobile data, and calls are disabled, with other communication channels also under threat.

Starlink satellite internet connections have also been targeted, with reports of jamming resuming on Saturday night. This has significantly disrupted access for many users who had previously relied on the service. Local reports suggest these disruptions may not be uniform nationwide. Meanwhile, the government has promoted domestic applications, signaling a potential long-term intent to restrict external internet access.
