Deadly Drone Attack Rocks Dubai Skyscrapers
8 Mar
Summary
- One man died from falling debris in a drone attack.
- Two residential skyscrapers caught fire after drone strikes.
- Dubai International Airport also targeted by a drone.

Two of Dubai's upscale residential towers were set ablaze, and one person lost their life due to falling debris from a drone attack. The incident occurred in the Al Barsha area, near Azayez Tower, and impacted the 23 Marina Tower. Fires broke out on the upper floors of the 90-story building, though authorities reported the blaze was contained with no other casualties in that instance.
Earlier in the day, Dubai International Airport experienced disruptions when a suspected drone strike near the complex triggered an explosion and led to flight cancellations. British tourists were among those affected, facing difficulties in their travel plans as flights were halted and terminals evacuated. A UK government-chartered flight is expected to depart for British nationals later next week.
Iran has been identified as the source of these attacks, continuing its missile and drone operations despite previous reassurances. The incidents have raised security concerns, though the UAE government maintained that drones were successfully intercepted and that no injuries occurred at the airport itself.
