Delta Extends Tel Aviv Flight Pause Amid Mideast Tensions
12 Mar
Summary
- Delta Air Lines paused its New York-Tel Aviv service until month-end.
- Escalating Middle East tensions disrupted global aviation since late February.
- Flights from Atlanta to Tel Aviv are delayed until August 4.

Delta Air Lines has announced an extension to its pause on the New York-Tel Aviv service, now set to continue until the end of March. This decision comes as escalating tensions in the Middle East continue to impact global aviation.
Since late February, the region has experienced disrupted air travel following U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran and subsequent retaliatory actions. Many airlines have suspended flights to Israel and several Gulf hubs, or have rerouted operations. Governments have imposed flight restrictions, prompting carriers to re-evaluate safety risks.
Delta had initially paused its service between New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport in late February. The carrier also confirmed a delay for its flights from Atlanta to Tel Aviv, with service now expected to resume no earlier than August 4.
