Delhi Traffic Police will implement extensive traffic restrictions around Red Fort on August 13, in preparation for the Independence Day ceremony. Seven major roads, including Netaji Subhash Marg and SP Mukherjee Marg, will be closed to general traffic between 4 am and 10 am. Commuters traveling between north and south Delhi are advised to use routes such as Aurobindo Marg or Connaught Place.
For east-west movement, suggestions include NH-24 and Vikas Marg, while certain bridges like Old Iron Bridge and Geeta Colony Bridge will be closed. Access to Old Delhi Railway Station, New Delhi Railway Station, and ISBT Kashmere Gate will be maintained via designated alternative routes.
Additionally, the Bharat Vyapar Mahotsav 2026 at Bharat Mandapam from August 12 to 15 will cause traffic advisories on Mathura Road and Bhairon Marg. Motorists are warned against parking in restricted areas, with vehicles facing towing. Normal bus services are expected to resume after 11 am on August 15.
