Yamaha's Compact Atmos Soundbar: Big Sound, Small Package

Yamaha has introduced its inaugural compact Dolby Atmos soundbar, the B200A. This new device is designed to upgrade and replace the existing C20A model, offering enhanced audio capabilities in a space-saving design. The B200A supports Dolby Atmos and features a "built-in subwoofer" with a Bass Extension mode, promising improved low-frequency response.

The soundbar's compact dimensions make it suitable for smaller entertainment setups. It includes Yamaha's Clear Voice technology for better dialogue clarity and offers four distinct sound modes: Movie, Standard, Stereo, and Game. Connectivity options are robust, featuring HDMI eARC/ARC, optical, a 3.5 mm auxiliary input, and Bluetooth.

Set to be available in November for $250, the B200A is priced higher than its predecessor. While the C20A was adequate, expectations are for the B200A to deliver a similar performance level. It is also positioned as a more affordable alternative to higher-end models, though it lacks some advanced features found in pricier options.
