Less than three months after its Series A, XDOF is reportedly in late-stage talks to secure Series B funding at a valuation of approximately $1.2 billion. The startup, co-founded by UC Berkeley researchers, has experienced rapid growth, with annualized revenue nearing $50 million, prompting significant investor interest.
XDOF focuses on building the necessary data pipelines and annotation systems for robotics companies. By providing outsourced data solutions, it aims to overcome the critical bottleneck of real-world data collection, which is essential for training general-purpose robots. The company is also partnering to release ABC, what it believes to be the largest collection of high-quality robot training data.
The company's approach involves combining remote teleoperation with human data collectors using sensors for everyday tasks. XDOF plans to expand its global workforce of data collectors, including remote teleoperators and egocentric operators. Previously, XDOF reported working with 20 customers, including several leading AI labs.
