23 Dec
Summary
- Xbox app is now available on select Amazon Fire TV models.
- Requires an active Xbox Game Pass subscription to play.
- A compatible controller is needed to stream games.

Amazon has expanded its smart TV offerings by introducing an Xbox app, enabling users to stream games directly. This new app is initially available on Amazon's Fire TV 4-Series and Fire TV Omni QLED models. These devices come in various sizes, catering to different viewing preferences.
The integration allows users to download the Xbox app from the Amazon Appstore. To access cloud streaming, an active subscription to Xbox Game Pass is necessary, with different tiers offering varying game libraries and features. Microsoft had previously increased its Game Pass pricing in October, with the top-tier option seeing a significant rise.
This development follows Amazon's earlier launch of Xbox Game Pass support on its streaming gadgets last July. Microsoft also offers its Xbox app on smart TVs from other manufacturers like LG and Samsung. A compatible controller, such as those from Microsoft or Sony, is required to play.
