Microsoft's Xbox is preparing to introduce its Gaming Copilot AI assistant to current-generation consoles within this year. This advanced AI tool, designed to aid players, was announced by Sonali Yadav, Xbox's product manager for gaming AI, during a Game Developers Conference panel. The Gaming Copilot is already accessible in beta across the Xbox mobile app, Windows 11, and the Xbox Ally handheld.
Players can utilize voice commands to activate the assistant for real-time game assistance. Gaming Copilot can offer solutions to in-game problems, answer questions about a player's past gaming activities, suggest strategies, and even provide personalized game recommendations. Examples demonstrate its capability to guide users on defeating bosses or finding crafting materials in games like Minecraft.
While specific console models were not confirmed, the Xbox Series X | S is expected to be among the supported platforms. The company also has a future console, Project Helix, in development, though its launch is anticipated around 2027. Microsoft's leadership in gaming AI continues to evolve with these new developments.
