14 May
Summary
- X is renaming its Bookmarks tab to History.
- The new History tab includes bookmarked posts, articles, and videos.
- This feature is currently rolling out to iOS users.

X, formerly Twitter, is implementing a significant change to its platform by renaming the Bookmarks tab to History. This update is designed to offer users a more comprehensive way to track content they engage with. The new History tab will encompass not only previously bookmarked posts but also a record of articles read and videos watched on the platform.
Nikita Bier, X's head of product, announced this feature update, stating its intention to create a dedicated space for long-form content. This move acknowledges the rapid pace of content on the X timeline, aiming to help users easily revisit and consume content they may have missed or wish to review later. The feature is currently being rolled out and is available on X for iOS.
This rebranding and functional expansion of the Bookmarks feature align with trends seen in other digital platforms. Similar to how web browsers maintain a history of visited pages, X's History tab seeks to provide users with a persistent archive. This also mirrors functionalities offered by platforms like Facebook, which allow users to review their activity, including videos watched and links clicked within the app.
