X Cracks Down on Content Theft
16 Jul
Summary
- X's AI now detects duplicated content three times faster.
- Over $1 million in creator payouts returned to original owners.
- Repeated policy violations lead to removal from creator program.

X has implemented a stricter policy to combat the abuse of its creator revenue-sharing program, targeting users who steal content and solicit engagement. The platform's enhanced Grok AI model can now detect duplicated content at three times the rate of its previous version. This advancement ensures that even edited or watermarked stolen content is identified, with monetized impressions being redirected to the original uploader.
X recently identified 1.5 million stolen posts and has already returned over $1 million in payouts to the rightful creators. The platform is also actively suspending bots, identifying and suspending 208 bots per minute and growing. Intentional policy circumvention or repeated engagement baiting will lead to users being removed from the creator program.
Accounts caught soliciting follows three or more times, for example by promising follows for replies, will be removed from the creator program and forwarded to the platform's policy team for suspension. These measures aim to foster a more authentic creator environment.
