Summary
- X suspends users monetizing unlabeled AI war videos.
- Unlabeled AI-made war content faces 90-day monetization ban.
- New policy combats misleading AI-generated war content.

X has implemented a new policy targeting users who monetize artificial intelligence-generated videos depicting war zones. Individuals posting AI-made war content without proper labeling will face a 90-day suspension from X's monetization program. Subsequent violations will result in permanent removal.
Nikita Bier, head of product at X, announced the policy, emphasizing the critical need for authentic information during wartime. The initiative follows recent regional escalations, which have seen a surge in misleading AI-generated posts on social media platforms.
Examples of deceptive content include fabricated clips of supposed Israeli soldiers crying and a video falsely showing Dubai's Burj Khalifa engulfed in flames. X will now require AI-made content to be marked either through user-submitted notes or system-detected signals indicating generative AI tools.
Users can identify AI-generated videos by looking for low picture quality, short durations, inaccurate depictions of locations, strange textures, or physical inconsistencies. The company's decision reflects a broader trend as X continues to tighten its artificial intelligence guardrails.
