Tech Woes: 3 in 5 Workers Face Pain
19 Oct
Summary
- Nearly two-thirds report frustration due to tech problems.
- Three in five workers experience physical discomfort from their setup.
- Over half feel better physically and mentally with controlled tech.

A recent Logitech study highlights how unsuitable or outdated technology significantly affects worker productivity and wellbeing. Analysis of over 9,400 respondents shows that four in five workers believe the right technology is crucial for achieving their goals.
Physical discomfort is widespread, with 58% of workers experiencing issues like wrist pain and eye strain from their desk setups. This frustration is compounded as nearly two-thirds report anxiety or anger stemming from technology problems.
Improvements in technology can boost employee morale and health. Over half of workers (54%) reported enhanced physical or mental wellbeing and increased optimism about their future when given more control over their workspace technology.
Despite the clear benefits, only a quarter of workers feel they have control over their office technology. This indicates a strong demand for change, as only one-fifth would retain their current setup if given a choice.
The report emphasizes hardware's importance, with 42% relying more on it now than five years ago. This reliance is even higher among AI users, reaching 76%, underscoring the ongoing need for effective human-machine interaction.
