Legendary speaker manufacturer Wharfedale has introduced its new Nova subwoofer series, comprising four models: the Nova 8, Nova 10, Nova 12, and Nova 15. These subwoofers are meticulously designed to deliver precision and balanced low frequencies, avoiding exaggerated, window-rattling sound. Each model features a newly engineered long-throw driver with treated, lightweight cones for stiffness and self-damping, paired with a die-cast chassis and high-excursion motor system. This driver works in conjunction with a downward-firing Auxiliary Bass Radiator, extending bass output without traditional reflex ports to prevent unwanted resonance and turbulence.
These subwoofers are set to be available in late September 2026, with prices starting at £799 for the 8-inch Nova 8. The range extends to the Nova 10 (£899), Nova 12 (£1,099), and the flagship Nova 15 (£1,299). Integrated Class D amplifiers provide between 200W and 360W of power, optimized with DSP for dynamic EQ that maintains audio clarity at both low and high volumes. Users can fine-tune the sound with adjustable crossover, phase alignment, and level calibration for a personalized listening experience in various room sizes and setups.
