Wandrd, known for its camera bags, has introduced a Magnetic Camera Strap system, enhancing the way photographers attach and detach straps from their gear. This new system utilizes circular anchors called Torus Links, designed to attach to a camera's eyelets and capable of supporting up to 198 pounds.
The strap connects via a magnetic mechanism that guides the Torus Link into the strap's CoreLock. While magnets aid in connection and security, a dual-pinch release is required to detach the strap, ensuring greater safety than easily removable magnetic accessories. This design facilitates faster, one-handed strap adjustments in the field.
Wandrd's strap is constructed from custom 'liquid nylon' tubular webbing, chosen for its comfort and soft edges, preventing irritation during extended wear. The absence of metal parts also safeguards camera equipment from scratches. For those attached to their existing straps, Wandrd offers a DIY kit, enabling the integration of the magnetic CoreLock system into preferred straps.
