Volkswagen has officially unveiled the ID.3 Neo, an extensively updated version of its electric compact hatchback, with pre-sales commencing in Germany and other European markets. This new model introduces a redesigned exterior, a completely rebuilt interior, and an enhanced drive system. The ID.3 Neo promises a top range of up to 630 kilometers under the WLTP standard when equipped with its largest available battery.
The interior has undergone a complete overhaul, featuring a new 12.9-inch "Innovision" infotainment touchscreen that runs on Android and a redesigned climate control panel with haptic toggle switches. Standard equipment now includes a 10.25-inch driver display and a 10-year free subscription to the VW Connect package.
Under the hood, the ID.3 Neo utilizes an updated MEB+ electric platform and a new APP350 rear-wheel-drive motor. Buyers can select from three power levels and three battery sizes, with charging speeds of up to 183 kW for the largest battery. Volkswagen also announced that earlier EVs did not fully meet customer expectations, with the company planning a strategic reset starting in 2026 with new ID. models.
New trim designations—Trend, Life, and Style—replace the old tier names. Standard features across all trims include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the IDA voice assistant powered by ChatGPT, and advanced driver assistance systems. The new cars are expected to reach customers in July 2026.
