Virtual Desktop, a pioneer in VR PC monitor streaming since 2016, is adapting to new hardware. Recent advancements see both Steam Frame and Meta Quest headsets natively streaming Windows monitors directly into virtual reality. This capability was first introduced by Virtual Desktop before Meta integrated similar features.
Developer Guy Godin, the creator of Virtual Desktop, has stated that Valve did not provide him with a Steam Frame. Nevertheless, he intends to pursue porting his application to work with the new headset. This ensures that users who prefer Virtual Desktop's established functionality can still access it on emerging platforms.
