Robot Clears Snow While Owner Snoozes

A homeowner's unique approach to clearing snow has captured widespread attention online. Tom Moloughney, from New Jersey, revealed his use of an autonomous robot, the Yarbo, to maintain his 6,000-square-foot driveway after a recent winter storm. The robot, purchased for over $5,000, was programmed to clear snow autonomously, allowing Moloughney to stay warm indoors. He shared that the robot periodically returned to its charging station as needed throughout the night.

Moloughney detailed that while the Yarbo effectively clears snow, it is not a simple plug-and-play device. He invested about 30 hours in assembling, programming, and calibrating the machine to ensure it correctly navigated and directed snow. Initial uses required reprogramming to adjust snow-blowing directions. Despite the significant setup time, Moloughney emphasized the rewarding outcome of a cleared driveway.
