According to the Additional Director General of Police, Maharashtra Cyber, India suffered massive losses of ₹22,845.73 crore due to cyber crimes in 2024, a staggering 206% increase from the previous year. With over 3.6 million cases registered across the country, the rise in financial scams, digital arrests, sextortion, and AI-enabled attacks has become a pressing concern.
Produced by Kiran Lanjewar under the banner of Vibro Motion Pictures, the six-episode "Weekend Club" web series aims to educate and engage the younger generation on the importance of cyber safety. Adhikari, a pioneer of Indian television thrillers, has returned to the OTT space with this project, determined to convey a meaningful message about the dangers of cyber crimes.
The series, shot across Surat, Mumbai, and Lonavala, features a talented cast including Sanjay Parmar, Nia Tripathi, Amika Shail, and others. With high production values, "Weekend Club" promises to deliver a gripping cyber crime narrative that will resonate with its target audience and raise much-needed awareness on this critical issue.
