A recent video capturing the Vande Bharat Express train amidst the first snowfall of the season in Jammu and Kashmir has captivated social media users. The semi-high-speed train was seen gliding through snow-covered tracks in the Banihal region, its striking orange livery creating a visual spectacle akin to Swiss alpine railways. This particular Vande Bharat Express, connecting Katra and Srinagar, was inaugurated in June of last year.
Designed for the challenging climatic conditions of Kashmir, the train possesses features to operate efficiently in sub-zero temperatures. It is engineered to withstand conditions as cold as -20 degrees Celsius. The train is fully electric and includes amenities like heated windscreens and an air dryer system.
