Summary
- New feature protects up to five family members from scams.
- Rolls out as a pilot in Sweden, Chile, Malaysia, and Kenya.
- Scammers now target entire households, prompting this feature.

Rising scam attempts have prompted Truecaller to launch Family Protection, a new feature aimed at safeguarding entire households. This system allows a designated administrator to manage scam-blocking settings for up to five family members, addressing the trend of fraudsters targeting multiple individuals within a home to find vulnerabilities. The feature is initially available as a pilot for Android and iOS users.
The pilot program is currently live in Sweden, Chile, Malaysia, and Kenya. Truecaller plans to expand the feature to additional key regions, including India, in the first quarter of 2026. This proactive measure acknowledges the shift in scammer tactics from individual targeting to exploiting entire family units through sequences of calls and messages.
Family Protection is offered as a free service, with an optional Premium Family plan providing an ad-free experience and enhanced spam defenses for all members. With over 450 million users globally, Truecaller detects millions of scam attempts daily, providing valuable data to combat evolving fraud schemes.
