Tesla Claims FSD Collisions Dramatically Lower

Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology has demonstrated a significantly lower collision rate compared to manually driven vehicles in five European countries where it is currently permitted. Between April and August, data gathered over more than 100 million kilometers showed a notable reduction in accidents involving FSD-equipped cars. This comes as Tesla actively lobbies ahead of a forthcoming European Union vote on the wider deployment of its autonomous driving system.

The Dutch road authority was the first to grant provisional approval for Tesla's FSD in April, with Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, and Lithuania subsequently following suit. Tesla has released an open-source safety dashboard, which it claims was shared with EU regulators in April, supporting its case for approval. The company is urging EU regulators to endorse broader use of its FSD technology, with a vote potentially occurring as early as October 6.
