Summary
- Tecno unveiled a magnetic modular phone concept at MWC.
- Modules attach via magnets and pogo pins, but magnets are weak.
- Key modules include a battery pack, wallet, and camera attachments.

Tecno has introduced a magnetic modular phone concept, drawing inspiration from earlier attempts at customizable mobile devices. This innovative phone features a slim profile with magnets and pogo pins on its rear for attaching various modules. While the core phone boasts a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 processor, 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM, its modularity is hampered by weak magnets, causing a slight wobble.
Several modules were on display, including a stackable 3,000 mAh battery that can add up to 12,000 mAh. Other accessories like a wallet and a lavalier microphone were also present. Camera modules offer potential, with a 3x optical telephoto lens and a more advanced 100x optical telephoto that relies on a Wi-Fi connection, though this introduced noticeable lag during testing. An action camera module was also present but non-functional.
