Summary
- Sony and TCL will co-own Bravia brand starting 2027.
- TCL QM9K features 6,000 dimming zones and 6,500 nits peak brightness.
- Out-of-box settings may show color shift, but calibration options exist.

Sony and TCL have entered an agreement to jointly own the Bravia brand, with new co-branded models expected in 2027. This transition makes the TCL QM9K the last flagship television released solely under TCL's name. The QM9K represents a significant advancement in TCL's Mini LED lineup, featuring 6,000 precision dimming zones for enhanced contrast and a peak brightness of 6,500 nits.
Additional enhancements include an anti-glare matte screen and improved LED technology for superior color accuracy, reproducing up to 100% of the DCI-P3 color spectrum. Audio is a collaboration with Bang & Olufsen, promising cleaner, more accurate sound from the integrated speakers.
Testing revealed that while the Standard picture mode shows similar color accuracy to previous models, an out-of-the-box blue-shift can affect warmer tones. However, TCL offers in-depth menu options for calibration, allowing users to adjust brightness, black levels, gamma, white balance with gain and offset sliders, and HDR tone mapping.
Dedicated gaming modes, like Game Master, further optimize performance with variable refresh rates and reduced input latency. Audio output can be seamlessly switched to external devices via HDMI eARC, supporting high-bandwidth formats like Dolby Atmos.
