The popular virtual pet, Tamagotchi, is making a comeback with its smallest iteration to date – a ring that fits on your finger. Developed over two years, this new device is barely an inch square, featuring tiny buttons and a 0.56-inch LCD screen.
Bandai has packed 30 characters from the Tamagotchi brand's 30-year history into this miniature gadget. To achieve its compact form factor, components were significantly reduced, including the removal of a USB charging port.
Users will need to rely on a dedicated charging case to keep their virtual pet powered. The Tamagotchi ring is currently available for pre-order in Japan for ¥7,700 (approximately $50 USD), with deliveries scheduled to commence in February 2027.
