SpaceX has initiated a recall for certain Starlink power cables due to a quality-control issue concerning their waterproofing. Customers who purchased the Starlink Performance dish (Gen 3) or the Advanced Power Supply Unit, particularly those with the $1,999 dish or the $200 PSU, are eligible to receive free replacement AC and DC power cables. The company stated that these cables do not meet their stringent quality standards and could be more vulnerable to water damage.

The identified issue became apparent when the cabling was exposed to wet conditions. While the Advanced Power Supply Unit was designed to withstand harsh environments and qualified for IPx8 water ingress protection, the affected cables might compromise this resilience. Starlink advises affected customers to install the replacement cables to maintain product reliability, especially given the equipment's intended use in extreme weather and on marine vessels.

This quality concern coincides with the Advanced Power Supply Unit's disappearance from the online Starlink shop. While SpaceX has not publicly commented on the delisting, the identified waterproofing flaw offers a potential explanation for its removal from sale.
