Spotify Rolls Out Lossless Audio for Premium Subscribers

As of September 11th, 2025, Spotify has officially introduced its highly anticipated lossless audio feature for Premium subscribers in select markets. The new offering provides users with advanced sound quality, ranging up to 24-bit/44.1 kHz FLAC, delivering exceptional audio detail and clarity across a wide range of devices.
Spotify's VP of Subscriptions, Gustav Gyllenhammar, expressed the company's excitement about the rollout, stating, "The wait is finally over; we're so excited lossless sound is rolling out to Premium subscribers. We've taken time to build this feature in a way that prioritizes quality, ease of use, and clarity at every step, so you always know what's happening under the hood. With Lossless, our premium users will now have an even better listening experience."
The lossless audio feature is currently available on mobile, desktop, tablet, and Spotify Connect devices, including those from Sony, Bose, and other compatible brands. Listeners can adjust the quality settings to choose between Low, Normal, High, Very High, and Lossless, with each option displaying the corresponding data usage to help users make informed choices based on their internet connection and data plan.
Spotify is gradually expanding the lossless audio rollout to more than 50 markets throughout October 2025, with Premium users in countries like Australia, Austria, Czechia, Denmark, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden, the US, and the UK already gaining access to the feature.
