Spotify Integrates Physical Books with Audiobooks
5 Feb
Summary
- Spotify launches Page Match for seamless physical book to audiobook transitions.
- New feature allows users to scan pages and resume listening or reading.
- Partnership with Bookshop dot org to promote independent bookstores.

Spotify is enhancing its audiobook offering by integrating physical books into its platform. The new Page Match tool, rolling out this month, enables users to scan any page of a printed or e-book and seamlessly transition to listening to the audiobook version from that exact point. This functionality also works in reverse, allowing readers to scan a page after listening and find their place in the physical book.
This initiative aims to foster reading habits by meeting users where they are. Spotify is collaborating with Bookshop dot org, a network of independent bookstores, to facilitate the purchase of physical books directly through its app. This move follows significant growth in Spotify's audiobook category, with a 36 percent year-over-year increase in new listeners and a 37 percent rise in listening hours between 2024 and 2025.
