16 Jul
Summary
- Starship's Flight 13 targets July 16 launch from Texas.
- New V3 Starlink satellites will be deployed during the mission.
- The flight aims for controlled landings in the Gulf and Indian Ocean.

SpaceX is preparing for Starship Flight 13, targeting a launch on July 16 from its Starbase facility in Texas. This mission is notable as it will carry the inaugural V3 Starlink satellites, designed to boost the network's capacity and user speeds.
The suborbital test flight aims for a controlled descent and splashdown in the Gulf of Mexico for the Super Heavy booster. The Ship upper stage will also descend, targeting a splashdown in the Indian Ocean off Western Australia.
During its trajectory, the Starship's Ship upper stage is expected to deploy 20 of the new V3 Starlink satellites. These satellites, equipped with cameras, will transmit live views of Starship and its heat shield before burning up in the atmosphere along with the booster.
This flight represents the second mission for SpaceX's V3 Starship and incorporates hardware and software modifications following previous test flights. SpaceX aims to develop Starship into a fully reusable rocket for lunar and Martian exploration.
