SpaceX Router Mini Jumps to $100 Amidst Shortages
19 Mar
Summary
- The Starlink Router Mini price increased by 150% to $100.
- This price hike may be linked to global memory chip shortages.
- An alternative is available on Amazon for the original price.

SpaceX has implemented a significant price increase for its Starlink Router Mini, raising the cost by 150% from $40 to $100. This change, observed on Thursday, has prompted consumers to reconsider purchasing the device, which was introduced last year to enhance the Wi-Fi range of Starlink dishes.
The substantial price hike is speculated to be a consequence of ongoing global memory shortages impacting components like DRAM and NAND flash. Experts have noted that memory costs have significantly increased for broadband products, with routers being particularly affected.
This price adjustment also follows the introduction of the re-branded Residential Max plan in January, where the Router Mini was previously offered as a complimentary perk. While the official Starlink shop briefly removed the product, it has since been relisted at the new, higher price. Consumers can still find the Router Mini on Amazon for $40, though delivery times may extend beyond a week.
