Summary
- Space Force uses AI and commercial data for tracking.
- A lab in Colorado Springs connects companies with problems.
- New efforts aim to speed commercial tech into operations.

The U.S. Space Force is enhancing its satellite tracking and threat assessment capabilities by integrating artificial intelligence and commercial data. This shift is central to the military's battle management and command and control systems, which historically depended on classified intelligence streams.
The Space Domain Awareness Tools, Applications and Processing Lab, or SDA TAP Lab, in Colorado Springs, facilitates this by hosting accelerator cohorts. These programs allow companies to engage with defined government challenges, providing the Space Force access to new data, software, and algorithms. Over the past two years, more than 400 companies have participated in these initiatives.
