Summary
- Xperia 10 VIII sees a significant price increase over its predecessor.
- The new model retains most specifications from the previous generation.
- Sony phones are no longer sold in the US market.

Sony has unveiled the Xperia 10 VIII, a new addition to its more affordable series, which carries a significantly higher price tag than its predecessor, the Xperia 10 VII. This increase is likely due to market factors, as the phone's features remain largely unchanged from the previous generation.
As Sony no longer sells its phones in the US, the Xperia 10 VIII will not be available stateside. It has been announced for European and UK markets at €599 and £549, a notable jump from last year's €449 and £399. The design is similar, featuring a new matte clear coating on the rear, available in Frozen White, Frosted Grey, or Misty Lilac.
Under the hood, the Xperia 10 VIII is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor with a 5,000mAh battery. It sports a 50MP main camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. Additional features include a 3.5mm headphone jack and support for up to 2TB of expandable storage via microSD, alongside 128GB of internal storage. The device runs Android 16 and promises up to four years of OS updates.
The 6.1-inch Full HD+ display is now 50% brighter, with automatic color adjustment for ambient light. Speakers have also been improved for higher volume and stronger bass. Sony claims two-day battery life, consistent with the previous model's performance. However, the most significant drawback is the considerable price increase for minimal gains in functionality, positioning it unfavorably against competitors if it were to be released in the US.
