Sonos has introduced its latest premium noise-canceling headphones, the Ace Ultra, available for preorder at $449 and shipping on September 29. These headphones feature newly designed 40-millimeter drivers and enhanced adaptive noise canceling, aiming to provide superior audio and ambient noise reduction. The Ace Ultra is also equipped with a 10-microphone array, an upgrade from the previous model's eight, promising improved voice-calling performance.
Headlining the new features is the Headphone Engine 2, which allows the Ace Ultra to connect directly to the Sonos system. This integration enables users to seamlessly transfer audio from their Sonos system to the headphones and back with a simple button press. Battery life is rated at 35 hours with noise canceling on, an increase from the previous 30 hours.
The Sonos Ace Ultra comes in black, soft white, agave, and sand colors. They feature new rebound foam ear cushions designed for enhanced comfort and passive noise reduction. The headphones support Bluetooth 5.0 and advanced audio codecs, including aptX Adaptive Lossless, alongside spatial audio and USB-C audio capabilities.
